Wilkins Kennedy merges with M R Salvage

Wilkins Kennedy is to merge with M R Salvage Ltd, creating a combined firm with over 700 staff and partners with an expected turnover in excess of £55m

The firms have exchanged contracts and intend to complete the transaction on 1 June 2018. On completion M R Salvage, which is based in Bourne End, will trade as Wilkins Kennedy. The merger brings the combined firm’s total office count to 18 across London and the South East.

Wilkins Kennedy, ranked at number 18 in the 2017 Accountancy league table of firms, said the deal is an important part of its growth strategy for the region. The merger will position the firm as one of the largest accountancy practices in Buckinghamshire and increase office coverage along the M40 corridor.

Tim Collerton, previously a partner at Wilkins Kennedy’s Amersham office, is to take from current M R Salvage managing partner, John Taylor, who commences his retirement from the end of May, and three directors will join Wilkins Kennedy.

Collerton said: ‘We are delighted to be joining forces with M R Salvage, a firm that is well established and very highly respected throughout the region. This merger provides us with a significant base in the heart of the county to support our growing client base. We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues.’

John Taylor, retiring managing partner at M R Salvage, said the merger opened up new opportunities in specialist areas such as corporate finance and insolvency which the firm had not been able to offer its clients previously.
