UHY Hacker Young signals growth plan for Manchester team

As the government commits to a ‘levelling up’ agenda post-Covid, top 20 firm UHY Hacker Young has revealed ambitious expansion plans with a commitment to grow the audit team in its Manchester office by up to 20%

The firm, ranked at number 20 in Accountancy Daily’s Top 75 league table, says the expansion of the Manchester office will support the group’s overall growth strategy. Fee income last year totalled £49m.

Over the past year, the regional practice has taken on a number of new and larger audit clients, driving a need for additional qualified auditors as well as those still undergoing their training contract.

At present, UHY Hacker Young’s network consists of over 90 partners and 500 staff members in 19 locations across the country.

Mark Robertson, managing partner at UHY Hacker Young Manchester, said: ‘Winning a number of major new clients means that we now need to add to our audit practice here in Manchester, which is an exciting step for all of us.

‘It’s good to be part of a firm that’s contributing to economic growth in our city at a time of real challenges for businesses. We are also happy to be making our contribution to UHY Hacker Young’s overall group expansion plan.’
