Tax for owner managed businesses – CPD module

In this month's exclusive Accountancy Daily CPD module, we cover a high level review of some of the tax issues for owner managed businesses (OMB) over their lifecycle, from the beginning, to expansion, exit or family succession planning

This module will enable you to:

  • understand the choices on structure at the outset, including moving from sole trader into partnership or limited company status;
  • be familiar with some important tax issues as the business grows and recruits more staff or looks to raise external finance to expand;
  • understand the main tax goal (and other related tax issues) on an eventual sale of the business; and
  • gain an overview of some of the tax reliefs that assist in passing the business on to family.

This CPD module takes 20 minutes to complete and is followed by a short quiz to ensure thorough learning. There are also detailed course notes to ensure a full learning experience. Any CPD learning is also automatically added to Your CPD Tracker.

The CPD course lecturer is Mark Cawthron LLB CTA, tax writer at Croner-i Navigate
