Mid-tier accountants Saffery Champness has relocated its London office to 71 Queen Victoria Street near St Paul’s, giving the top 20 firm modern office space in the heart of the City of London
Comprising more than 32,000sqft of space, the new office is based over the fifth floor of the recently rebuilt office development in the eight storey building.
The move represents a significant upgrade in space of approximately 18% on the firm’s previous office, which was located in Lion House on Red Lion Street. This means that nearly half the firm’s UK partners - more than 30 - and over 200 professional and support staff will be based in the new London office.
The modern, open plan layout will create a workplace environment designed to encourage collaboration and innovation, while enabling greater flexibility in working arrangements as the firm continues to grow in the years ahead.
Rob Elliott, managing partner of Saffery Champness, said: ‘This is an exciting new chapter for Saffery Champness. The firm has enjoyed a sustained period of growth which has seen a significant increase in the number of people based in our London office. We felt the time was right to upgrade our facilities in order to accommodate future growth as well as provide a more contemporary working environment that is well-suited to both our team and our clients’ needs.
‘Interestingly, the move to Queen Victoria Street is very close to the firm’s very first office, at Guildhall Chambers. As a result, the move complements and builds upon our 160-year heritage and the new office will be an important part of our future as we continue to develop the firm.’
Saffery Champness was ranked 12th in the latest annual Accountancy Top 75 Firms league table with fee income of £70.5m in 2014/15. The firm has 65 partners in total and more than 500 professional and support staff at 10 offices around the UK.
