Quantuma in Scottish merger with WRI Associates

Business advisory firm Quantuma has completed a merger with Glasgow based independent insolvency provider WRI Associates in its first move into Scotland

The acquisition will see Quantuma take over WRI’s office in Glasgow, currently headed by partner and insolvency practitioner, Ian Wright, and eight staff.

The insolvency and restructuring practice, which was set up in 2010 and has reported fee income and assets of £518,000 according to Companies House, will be rebranded as Quantuma and the staff will all transfer to the firm.

Ian Wright, partner at WRI Associates, said: ‘The merger allows us to take advantage of Quantuma’s rapidly growing brand, while providing us with access to a wider portfolio of business advisory services which includes forensic accounting and Investigations. This means it is business as usual with additional value add for our clients and introducers.’

Founded in 2013 by Carl Jackson, Quantuma has annual fee income of £25m practice and has 250 staff. Headquartered in London, the company has a strong presence in the south of England, with further offices in Southampton, Marlow, Watford, Brighton and Bristol.

This is Quantuma’s first move into Scotland and follows significant geographical expansion in the last 18 months.

In April 2019, the firm merged with Kingsland Business Recovery, which saw it take over offices in Bradford, Birmingham and Nottingham. Quantuma also opened its first office in the north west at a site in Manchester, while expanding internationally with new offices in Cyprus and Mauritius.

Carl Jackson, managing director at Quantuma, said: ‘We continue to grow rapidly organically, but when the opportunity occurs to merge with a quality practice such as WRI Associates then it makes sense to talk.

‘Developing a footprint in Scotland has been on our agenda for some time, and we have been extremely impressed by the quality of work delivered by Ian and his team.’
