The Chancellor, Philip Hammond, has confirmed that he will present his first Autumn Statement to parliament on 23 November 2016
This will be the first opportunity for the Chancellor to set out future spending plans and tax initiatives after the vote to leave the EU on 23 June.
The Autumn Statement is based on the latest forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility for the economy and public finances.
It is also likely that the announcement will provide more clarity on the plans for the rollout of digital tax accounts with the feedback from the current six consultations on Making Tax Digital likely to be published in the immediate aftermath, while plans for quarterly reporting for larger businesses and SMEs should also be set out for consultation in a policy document scheduled for late 2016.
