RSM has appointed Andrew Mason as partner in the East Anglia office. Mason joins RSM from Price Bailey where he was a director, having spent most of his 25-year career working in the Cambridgeshire market for mid-tier firms. Irfan Butt has been hired as a tax partner, working in the real estate and construction team. Butt joins from PwC where he was director of real estate funds, infrastructure and distressed debt funds.
Mazars has appointed two partners - Rene Koellen, a monitoring trustees partner has been promoted from director, and David Allen, a financial services audit partner who has joined from KPMG, where he worked as senior manager.
Watson Buckle has promoted Andrew Padgett to a director role and hired Gillian Craven as director. Padgett has been with the firm since 2015 having joined from Armstrong Watson where he worked as a corporate services audit manager. Craven started her career at Watson Buckle in 2005 as a graduate trainee, she previously worked at Santander as a CeMAP qualified mortgage advisor.
Raffingers has promoted associate partner, Mehul Thaker, to partner. Thaker joined Raffingers in 2017 and specialises in strategic business planning, cashflow management and profit improvement. Previously he was at Smith & Williamson where he specialised in SMEs and AIM listed clients.
BDO is set to recruit 600 trainees across the UK this year, with applications now open for four key programmes: graduate, apprenticeship, summer intern and summer school.
The Financial Accounting Foundation has named Kathleen Casey as chair, and also appoints five members to the board of trustees. She succeeds Charles Noski and has been a member of the board since January 2018. The five members are Bruce Herring, Michael Rollings, Timothy Ryan, Lawrence Salva, and Shundrawn Thomas. Rollings is CFO and managing director of the finance division for Vanguard Group and Ryan is US chair and senior partner for Big Four Firm, PwC.
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) has named Patrick Bryan as director of enforcement and investigations. He is currently assistant general counsel for enforcement at the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System, Washington. Kenneth Lench has also been hired as general counsel. He is currently a partner in law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP’s government, regulatory and internal investigations practice group.
