People in the news: Milsted Langdon, BDO, KPMG

In this week’s accountancy career moves, CEO appointed at Blick Rothenberg, partner appointments at Milsted Langdon and BDO, and KPMG names their head of tax and legal services

Milsted Langdon appoints Robert Brown as a partner in their Bristol tax team. With over 30 years’ experience in tax, Brown joins from Stonebridge Associated Colleges where he was a Group CFO.

BDO LLP has named Stuart Collins as finance partner, starting 4 July 2020. Previously, Collins has spent the last four years leading BDO’s consumer markets sector team as a partner.

KPMG UK appoints Victoria Heard as head of tax and legal services. Heard joined KPMG as a graduate in the firm’s Manchester office in 2001. She will formally take on the role from 1 October.   KPMG UK also appoints Chris Townsend OBE as head of infrastructure, government and healthcare. Townsend formerly undertook a voluntary role as CEO for the Covid-19 Shielding Programme, designed to protect 2.25million Clinically Extremely Vulnerable NHS patients in England from the coronavirus pandemic.

The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation, who are responsible for the oversight and governance of the International Accounting Standards Board (Board), have appointed Renata Bandeira, Sophie Massol, Jon Nelson and Donné Sephton to the IFRS Interpretations Committee.

HMRC has made three director general appointments: Karl Khan, Jo Rowland, Jonathan Russell. Khan moves from his current role as the Customer Service Group’s Director of Finance, Planning and Performance. Rowland is moving from her role as Director of HMRC’s Covid-19 Response Unit. Russell takes up the post after moving from being Chief People Officer of the VOA to interim Chief Executive.
