People in the news: Menzies, Haysmacintyre, Simmons Gainsford

In this week’s accountancy career moves, partner promotions at Menzies, Simmons Gainsford, MHA Moore and Smalley, Haysmacintyre, and Buchler Phillips, and head of corporate finance advisory named at Grant Thornton

Menzies, has announced four senior-level promotions. Tom Woods will be based at the Woking office as a partner, promoted from director. Jonathan Bass, Ross Wiggins, and Matt Haddow are joining the London office, all three were promoted from director to partner

Paul Twydell joins Simmons Gainsford as a partner to head up the Corporate Tax team. Twydell previously worked at Haysmacintyre as a business tax director.

MHA Moore and Smalley has appointed Andrew Matthews to lead its Liverpool office. Matthews joins as a partner after three and half years as group finance director of Merseyside-based manufacturer and exporter Inciner8 Ltd.

Haysmacintyre has promoted Jon Dawson to partner in its Creative, Media and Technology team. Dawson trained and qualified at haysmacintyre, and now manages audit engagements, IPOs, acquisition due diligence, MBOs and trade sales for his clients

Buchler Phillips, corporate recovery and restructuring firm, has appointed Paul Davis as Partner. Davis, who is deputy vice president of the Insolvency Practitioners Association, joins from MHA MacIntyre Hudson, where he was a partner for more than 11 years.

Grant Thornton has appointed Keely Woodley as head of corporate finance advisory. Keely has been with the firm for over 15 years in the M&A practice, having joined from 3i Group Plc in 2005 where she was a portfolio and valuation specialist.

FinancialForce’s Tod Nielsen announces retirement as sales and customer success leader Scott Brown is appointed as president and CEO. Brown joined the professional services automation company from Teradata as an EVP and chief revenue office.

Business advisory firm FRP has promoted restructuring advisory specialist Steve Baluchi to director. Baluchi joined FRP’s Brighton office in 2018 and has more than 15 years’ industry experience advising corporate boards, stakeholders and individuals facing financial challenges.
