People in the news: Jersey Finance, KPMG, Shard Capital

In this week’s accountancy career moves, executive board announcements at KPMG, chair named at Jersey Finance and Chartered Institute of Credit Management, and chief operating officer appointed at Shard Capital

Jersey Finance has named Jason Laity as chairman. Laity most recently worked as head of fintech Digital Jersey, he was also senior partner of KPMG in the Channel Islands until 30 September 2019.

Debbie Nolan FCICM(Grad) has succeeded Pete Whitmore FCICM as chair of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) Executive Board of Trustees. Nolan is the UK CEO of global financial solutions company.

KPMG announces executive board appointments. Mary O’Connor has been appointed as head of clients and markets, she was previously head of client industry and business development at The Willis Towers Group. O’Connor replaces Scott Parker who will take on a new role as head of transformational growth and EMA head of markets. The Big Four firm has also appointed Kevin Hogarth as its chief people officer.  Hogarth joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he held the role of global director of people and culture. Rachel Hopcroft, head of corporate affairs, also joins the firm’s executive board. Hopcroft has led the firm’s Corporate Affairs function since 2017, she joined from the Civil Service where she worked for 13 years.  

Martin Bradbrook has been named chief operating officer at Shard Capital. Bradbrook previously worked at Dolfin Financial as head of operations and IT for the last six years

Thomas Wescott has appointed Simon Valentine as a financial planner. Valentine joined Thomas Westcott from Barnstaple based financial planning firm Philip J Milton & Company Plc, where he spent nearly 13 years.
