Movers & Shakers: Rebus, IASB, ICAEW and Grant Thornton

Claims firm Rebus has expanded its tax team with the appointment of Andrew Clark , who was most recently tax planning director at Bestinvest Group, where he was responsible for the review and approval of tax-efficient products and structures. Also joining the team is solicitor Tim Barker, who previously worked at Magnus Consulting, advising on tax efficient structures.

Jennifer Tragner CA has joined R&D tax specialists, Alma Consulting Group, as production director. She moves from KPMG, where she was tax manager in the specialist research and development tax relief team.

The ICAEW has appointed Giles Derry as chairman of its Corporate Finance Faculty. Derry, currently a partner at Dunedin, becomes the first institute chairman from a private equity firm. Previously at Sand Aire Private Equity, he joined Dunedin in 2005.

Sue Lloydwill serve as a member of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) for a five year term. Lloyd has been a senior director of technical activities at the IASB, responsible for leading the technical staff in the development of new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs).

Grant Thornton has recruited Alan Richardson as partner to its international tax practice. He has been a partner at Ernst & Young for 15 years, in that time, being based in both the UK and Australia.
