Mazars acquires medical accounting specialist Hall Liddy

Mazars has acquired Hall Liddy Chartered Accountants, a specialist medical accounting firm based in the North West, to create a combined healthcare accounting team advising GPs and medical consultants

All 31 staff at Hall Liddy will join Mazars’ Manchester office, together with the existing management team of directors Des Liddy, Andrew Pow and Melanie Thomas, who will become partners at Mazars following the acquisition. The fourth director, David Hall, will join Mazars on a consultancy basis.
Hall Liddy was established in Manchester in 1992 and has over 2,600 clients in the medical sector including GP practices, salaried GPs, locums, hospital doctors and consultants, as well as barristers and retired professionals.
As part of Mazars, the team will be able to respond to the shifting needs of health sector clients, reflecting the demand for a growing range of digital solutions, which can be delivered via Mazars’ cloud-based accounting and outsourcing services.
Mazars is ranked at number 10 in the Accountancy Daily Top 75 Firms ranking with fee income of £181.3m for year end August 2018. The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed. The 2018 year end accounts for Hall Liddy showed total income of £1.6m in the firm's Companies House filing.
