Jason Collins is a partner in the litigation and compliance group and head of tax at Pinsent Masons. As a leading tax practitioner in the UK, he specialises in the resolution of complex disputes with HMRC in all aspects of direct tax and VAT. Much of his work involves a negotiated settlement and he also handles litigation before the tax tribunals and all the way through to the European Court. He has a particular expertise in managing group litigation against HMRC and represents clients facing criminal investigation by HMRC. In addition he advises on the extent to which HMRC can seek or share information with other UK and foreign authorities.
