HMRC takes PAYE online service down for overnight maintenance

HMRC is updating the 2017/18 year tax data over night so customers will be unable to use the PAYE online service from 5pm for 16 hours on 5 April

The IT downtime means the service will be offline and unavailable from Wednesday 5 April 2017 at 5pm to Thursday 6 April 2017 at 9am.

The shutdown is due to scheduled maintenance to update the service to reflect the new tax year 2017/18 rates and data.

Employers and agents will be unable to use the PAYE online service for 16 hours. Full service will be resumed from 9am on 6 April 2017 when taxpayers will then be able to file expenses and benefits forms for 2017/18.

The self assessment system will be also be affected so it will not be possible to file tax returns for fiscal years 2014/15 and 2015/16 over the same period (other self assessment online services are not affected).

HMRC apologises for any inconvenience.
