The HMRC Secure Electronic Transfer (SET) online service will be unavailable for several hours this weekend for scheduled maintenance so businesses and agents will not be able to download large data files over the period
Due to planned maintenance, HMRC has confirmed that there could be delays in receiving confirmation emails between 10.30am to 1pm on Saturday 20 February.
The SET service is a secure way for tax agents and businesses to exchange large amounts of information with HMRC online. This is safer and more efficient than transfers of paper or storage media like hard drives.
The file size limit for SET is currently 1.96GB, however, there are restrictions on the file size of individual return types, which can be found in the specific documentation for producing the file.
