Hentons extends national reach with London merger

Leeds based accountancy and advisory firm Hentons is merging with London specialist music industry practice C C Panayi & Co, whose clients include four times Brits winner Emeli Sandé, as part of its national expansion plans

The move follows a year of growth for Hentons that saw it expand the client base and geographical reach across North Yorkshire with the addition of two new offices in York and Thirsk. The merged firm will trade as Hentons Panayi.

Hentons now has a team of over 100 across five offices focusing on business advisory, audit, accounts, tax planning and wealth management, as well as one of the largest specialist entertainment sector teams in the region.

Nadeem Ahmed, managing partner of Hentons, said: ‘The move strengthens both teams by expanding geographical reach and providing a deeper mix of skill sets and experience.’

London-based C C Panayi was founded in October 1980 and works with a musical client base ranging from artists and record producers to recording studios and labels. Its client base and experience are international with clients in Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada, and Europe.

There are currently four partners – Effie Charalambous (since 1995), Emma Panayi (since 2009), George Antoniou (since 2013) and Chris Panayi, and 30 staff.

Partner Chris Panayi said: ‘We have been looking to partner with another firm which would enable us to enhance and add to the services that we have so far provided. Hentons is a firm that shares our ethos, professionalism and client care qualities and together, we can provide the first class digital tools and a breadth of expertise that will add significant value to our clients.’
