FRC sets date for Women in Finance mentoring event
The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) will be holding a Women in Finance networking event focusing on sponsorship and mentoring to disucss ways to increase the representation of women at the senior level of accounting firms
14 Mar 2019
The event will cover how sponsorship and mentoring can help to remove the obstacles in the way of women’s progression and close the gender pay gap at accounting and financial services firms, and across the business community.
At executive levels, the female talent pipeline runs dry - just 11% of FTSE 100 chief financial officers (CFOs) are women.
The panel will include Ann Francke, CEO of the Chartered Management Instittute (CMI); Heather Melville OBE, director and head of client experience at PwC and chair of CMI Women; and Tracy Vegro, executive director of strategy and resources at FRC.
They will discuss what organisations can do to help more women progress into senior finance positions, along with:
- how to enhance the talent pipeline;
- what sponsorship is (and isn’t); and
- confidence and assertiveness – are they really the key to career progression.
