EY snaps up SAP consulting business

Big Four firm EY has expanded its consulting arm with the acquisition for an undisclosed sum of AgilityWorks, a technology consultancy business with offices in the UK, Portugal and India

The acquisition will give EY access to specialist SAP consulting services specialising in supporting global organisations with business transformations.

The company focuses on deployment of HANA based SAP technology and has been through a period of growth in line with the adoption of the new SAP platform, S/4HANA suite.

Alan Hunt, previously managing director of AgilityWorks, will lead the new team and has become an associate partner at EY. The acquisition will be rolled into EY UK and Ireland Advisory SAP practice and will operate as EY AgilityWorks. All staff will be transferred to the new structure. In addition, Matt Riches and Sameer Shah will also join as partners.

For the time being employees from AgilityWorks in the UK will continue to work on client sites and out of the company's existing Oxford office. In India and Portugal operations will move to the EY offices in Gurgaon and Lisbon respectively.

Stuart Orr, EY UK&I advisory managing partner said: ‘The acquisition of AgilityWorks will expand our capabilities and accelerate the growth of our technology consulting services.

‘Our newly formed EY AgilityWorks team will enable us to provide our clients with a modern SAP service model and meet the growing demand for advice in this area.’

Hunt said: ‘We will be bringing together AgilityWorks’ SAP technology expertise with EY’s business transformation capabilities and industry knowledge.

‘Working together will allow us to deliver rapid outcomes for our clients, working in an agile and collaborative way. Our approach will remove complexity and provide clients with a flexible digital platform upon which to develop and innovate further.’
