Elizabeth Richards is head of corporate governance at ICAEW and is a solicitor who has worked for regulatory and representational bodies for over 15 years, including the Law Society and  the Financial Conduct Authority.

She has promoted the national and international interests  of a number of professional sectors through the development of standards, and by facilitating the thought leadership and lobbying activities of  practitioner committees. Her time spent with the Prosperity Directorate of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (Wilton Park) helped consolidate and broaden her understanding of commerce, and she also led an OECD project which covered a range of commercial and professional sectors. She was recently awarded a Masters Degree in International Law by the University of Bristol. In her spare time, Liz sits on the board of the UN Association.
