Accountancy firm DJH Mitten Clark has confirmed the second merger of the month, joining forces with north west based Morris & Co
Demonstrating its commitment to the firm and the north west, Staffordshire based DJH Mitten Clarke has acquired the Chester House offices and as part of the move, the Morris & Co brand will be retained and the team of 70 staff will continue to operate out of the firm’s existing offices at Cheshire Oaks Business Park.
The firm will also continue to be led by Morris & Co senior director Nick Ledingham and director Desirie Lea.
Ledingham said: ‘It is more crucial than ever to plan for the future and the partnership with DJH Mitten Clarke allows us to do just that. They are a business that work to the same principles and are very much focused on their team and clients.’
‘Coming together will allow us to further invest in the team’s wellbeing, training and development, to create the very best place to work. We will also strengthen our specialist services with capital allowances, R&D, financial planning and commercial and residential finance coming in-house through DJH Mitten Clarke. The partnership will enhance the expert advice we offer to our clients.’
This is DJH Mitten Clarke’s second merger this year after announcing a merger with Newcastle-under-Lyme-based DJH in March 2021. The merger with Morris & Co is set to grow the company even further with the combined turnover of £11.5m for both firms based on the 2021 forecast.
Scott Heath, executive director at DJH Mitten Clarke, said: ‘Whilst exploring our options to enhance our presence in the north west, we considered a number of firms but Morris & Co really stood out. We were blown away by the team and their specialisms and knowledge of the health care and franchise sectors.’
He added: ‘Joining forces will strengthen the infrastructure of both businesses. We can learn a lot from each other, adding value along the way for our clients.’
