David leads the public sector, charities and not-for-profit practice at Spence & Partners heading a team advising third sector and public sector bodies on all aspects of pension provision.

He is a regular contributor of articles and commentary in the press, especially on public and third sector pensions issues. He has a popular blog in leading on-line charity publication Civil Society and is much in demand as a speaker at leading events.

David is a member of the ICAS Pensions Committee and has worked with charity representative bodies such as EVOC, SCVO and NICVA. David has also been working with Charity Finance Group and PLSA promoting change in pension legislation for third sector organisations and was a member of the DWP Working Party looking at multi-employer pension schemes and their impact on charities. Avid was a co-author of CFG’s “Pension Maze” publication.
