Released 19 July 2021
The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has published its latest report on reporting on stakeholders, decisions and Section 172.
The report highlights that information relating to stakeholders and decisions helps investors gauge a company’s progress towards fulfilling its purpose and achieving long-term success. s. 172 statements can then help bridge the gap between these two types of information.
The report outlines what investors want to see reported in these areas and offers examples from current reporting practice that provide potentially effective ways to address those needs. The report also builds on the tips on s. 172 statements published in October 2020.
Alongside the report, the FRC has published a summary of the questions for companies to consider in determining what information to report on stakeholders and decisions which meet investors’ needs.
