IIA publishes research on risks most impacted by Covid-19

Released 04 June 2021

The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has published new research on how the pandemic has adversely impacted organisational culture.

Chief audit executives reported that the top five risks to businesses exacerbated by the pandemic are:

business continuity, crisis management and disasters response;

cybersecurity and data security;

health, safety and security;

organisational culture; and

financial, liquidity and insolvency risks.

The IIA has urged internal auditors to address a potential organisational culture crisis to avoid a chain of potential negative impacts across wider business structures.
