FCA consults on new benchmark powers

The FCA has issued a statement setting out its potential approach to the use of proposed new powers under the Financial Services Bill to ensure an orderly wind down of LIBOR.

Consultation documents have been published alongside the statement, about the proposed policy in relation to some of the new powers that would be granted to the FCA under the Benchmarks Regulation (BMR) as amended by the Financial Services Bill introduced into the UK Parliament on 21 October 2020.

The consultations will run until 18 January 2021.
