DAC 6 reporting deadlines deferred
Released 25 June 2020
The Government is deferring the first reporting deadlines under the International Tax Enforcement (Disclosable Arrangements) Regulations 2020 (SI 2020/25) by six months.
The six month deferral from 1 July 2020 will provide taxpayers and intermediaries dealing with the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic with additional time to ensure that they can comply with their obligations.
The regulations will affect ‘intermediaries’ who design, promote or implement certain types of cross-border arrangements which could be used to avoid or evade tax, as well as those who provide advice or assistance in relation to such arrangements.
For further details on the deferral, see the CIOT website at https://www.tax.org.uk/policy-technical/technical-news/dac-6-deferral-reporting-deadlines-message-hmrc.
Further information on the DAC 6 reporting requirements can be found in the International Exchange of Information Manual.
