Released 22 November 2019
HMRC will be hosting an online agent talking points meeting: Expenses and benefits - social functions and parties on Tuesday 3 December 2019 – 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
This is a short webinar for employers and covers the tax and National Insurance treatment of giving their employees annual social functions such as a Christmas party or summer barbecue.
It does not cover reimbursing staff for the costs of entertaining or providing hospitality to customers or clients. You can find guidance about this on GOV.UK.
Questions for HMRC subject experts can be sent to email@example.com more than 24 hours prior to the meeting, including the title of the meeting in the ‘Subject’ line of the e-mail. Questions that arise after this time should be submitted during the live meeting.
