SI 2019/1071 - The Vehicle Excise Duty (Taxi Capable of Zero Emissions) Regulations 2019
Released 05 July 2019
SI 2019/1071 provides the definition of a taxi capable of zero emissions from 29 July 2019.
The Vehicle Excise Duty (Taxi Capable of Zero Emissions) Regulations 2019 provide the definition of a taxi capable of zero emissions (TCZE) for the purposes of the exemption from the additional supplement of vehicle excise duty for vehicles with a list price of more than £40,000 under the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994, as amended by Finance Act 2019. The regulations provide that a TCZE is either a vehicle which qualifies for plug-in taxi grant as set out in the guidance document “plug-in taxi grant vehicle application form and guidance notes” or is of a model specified in a list maintained by the Secretary of State. The regulations have effect in relation to licences taken out on or after 1 April 2019. The regulations come into force with effect from 29 July 2019.
