Spring Statement 2019: what you need to know

The Chancellor presented his Spring Statement to Parliament on 13 March 2019.

The Spring Statement is not a fiscal event and the Chancellor does not make significant tax or spending announcements at the Spring Statement, unless the economic circumstances require it. The Spring Statement gives an update on the overall health of the economy and the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) forecasts as well as an update on progress made since the Autumn Budget.
