CIOT responds to OECD consultation on tax challenges of the digital economy
Released 06 March 2019
The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) has published its response to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) consultation on the digital economy.
The OECD published the consultation document on 13 February 2019, describing the proposals discussed by the Inclusive Framework for a long-term solution to the broader challenges arising from the digitalisation of the economy and the remaining Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) issues. The CIOT response expresses its support for the consensus-based long term reform of the international tax system to address the perceived challenges arising from the digitalisation of the economy and welcomes efforts to achieve an early consensus on the way forward.
