LITRG guidance on SA registration process

Released 20 December 2018

The Low Incomes Tax Reform Group (LITRG) has published guidance aimed at helping taxpayers using self-assessment online for the first time, navigate the registration process.

The guidance demonstrates that whilst HMRC’s online Self-Assessment service is quite user-friendly, getting access to it can be confusing. The most common way of doing this is through the ‘Government Gateway’ portal and the LITRG website guidance takes people, step-by-step, through the process of setting up an online Self-Assessment account in this way.
