Welsh Assembly votes to introduce the Welsh Parliament and Elections Bill

The Welsh Assembly has voted in favour of a Bill to change its name to Senedd Cymru/ Welsh Parliament and other electoral reforms.
Assembly Member agreed by 44 votes to 1 with 3 abstentions to allow the Assembly Commission to introduce the Welsh Parliament and Elections (Wales) Bill. The Assembly Commission will now introduce a Bill early in 2019 to:
•change the name of the Assembly to Senedd Cymru/ Welsh Parliament;
•lower the voting age for Assembly elections to 16;
•amend the law relating to disqualification from being an Assembly Member; and
•make other changes to the Assembly's electoral and internal arrangements.
