HMRC release Tobacco Products Manufacturing Machinery Licensing Scheme manual

HMRC have added a new manual on the Tobacco Products Manufacturing Machinery Licensing Scheme to their collection of internal guidance manuals.

Tobacco Products Manufacturing Machinery Licensing Scheme covers the roles and responsibilities for persons licensed to carry out regulated tobacco activities in the UK. From 1 August 2018 all businesses and individuals are prohibited from performing a regulated activity involving tobacco products manufacturing machinery in the UK unless they are granted a licence to do so by HMRC. The guidance should be read in conjunction with Excise Notice 2004. HMRC manuals contain guidance prepared for HMRC staff and are published in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and HMRC Publication Scheme.
