Autumn Budget set for 22 November 2017

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, has announced that government will publish its Autumn Budget on Wednesday 22 November

This follows the Chancellor’s announcement at last year’s Autumn Statement that there will now be only one fiscal event in each year which will be held in the autumn.

From 2018 there will be a Spring Statement, responding to the forecast from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), but no major fiscal event. The OBR is required by law to produce two forecasts a year.
