Continuing Covid-19 restrictions have seen Accountex London – the UK’s flagship accounting and finance conference and exhibition – postponed until May 2022
The show will now be held on 11-12 May 2022 at ExCeL London.
The venue is currently being used as one of the sites for the rollout of the government’s vaccine programme.
Event director Zoe Lacey-Cooper said: ‘Although there are positive signs that large scale events will be able to restart in the coming months, the current restrictions in place still pose a huge challenge to running Accountex London in May this year.
‘As always, our priority is safety, and we feel that there are still too many issues in 2021 for us to be able to deliver the event.’
Last year’s Accountex was originally scheduled for 13-14 May before being moved to new dates in November as the pandemic took hold, when it was then held as a two day virtual summit.
Announcing the decision to postpone this year’s event, Lacey-Cooper said: ‘We want to make the right decision for the whole sector as well as our attendees. And after consulting with our partners, we’ve decided the best action for everyone involved is to move the show to May 2022.
‘We’re committed to delivering a show that provides the industry with the most effective opportunities for networking, education, discovery and interaction – and we’re confident the move to 2022 will best enable us to do this.
‘Finally, we’re so grateful for the incredible goodwill and support this industry has shown us during these difficult times. We’re looking forward to working together over the coming year to ensure that Accountex continues to be the celebration and gathering the industry deserves and can be proud of. And more than anything, we look forward to seeing you – in person – as soon as possible.’
