AAT launches TV ad campaign to recruit accountants

Accountants from all backgrounds will be starring in television and radio adverts, to be played during the daytime across a range of channels over the next six weeks, as part of a campaign by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) to attract applicants to the accounting sector

The AAT summer advertising campaign is targeting new students and is a multi-platform campaign, running across TV, radio, press, outdoor and online advertising.  

The TV advertisements will air during day-time schedules until mid-September across various channels including ITV2, ITV3, Channel 4, Digital and Sky channels.

The films feature eight people who have studied for their AAT qualifications, all of whom responded to shout-outs published on AAT’s social media channels, and none of whom have ever taken part in filming before.

The case studies used represent a diverse range of individuals for whom AAT qualifications have been a positive move, including school leavers, apprentices, career enhancers and career changers. Hannah Wright, who is an AAT member and client accountant within advertising agency WPP’s network, and who took part in the advert, said: ‘It was a brilliant day filming. Everything ran so smoothly, and it was lovely meeting other AAT members and students.’

AAT has around 130,000 members in over 100 countries, and its range of qualifications are open to all regardless of previous education or age. These include the AAT accounting qualifications, providing a non-degree route into chartered accountancy, and the AAT bookkeeping qualifications. Students encompass a wide range from school and college leavers, to older people hoping to change their career or learn the skills to run their own business.

Filming took place in Clapton, east London, during July 2019, with AAT supported by production agency xfilms and advertising agency Waxmans.
